President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi hosted French President Emmanuel Macron at Ittihadiya Palace on the second day of his Cairo visit. The two leaders oversaw the signing of multiple agreements and memoranda of understanding on Monday. This included ten institutional agreements between the two governments and twelve economic agreements during a business forum.

The agreements encompass various sectors of cooperation and aim to implement diverse projects in areas such as health, water, transportation, and renewable energy.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the two presidents held bilateral talks followed by expanded discussions involving delegations from both countries. They also signed a joint declaration elevating the relationship between Egypt and France to the level of a strategic partnership.

Following their meetings, they held a joint press conference. President El-Sisi stated that President Macron's visit clearly reflects the long-standing and fruitful bilateral cooperation between Egypt and France in all sectors, serving the interests of both nations. He emphasized that elevating their relationship to a strategic partnership represents a significant step in strengthening joint cooperation and creating new opportunities that benefit both countries and their people.

President El-Sisi stated that they had reviewed the long-standing historical ties between Egypt and France and explored ways to advance them in all priority areas, particularly concerning the promotion and intensification of French investments in Egypt. He underscored the importance of expanding the involvement of French companies in the Egyptian economy, especially given their accumulated expertise in Egypt over the past decades.

He also stressed the need to build upon the outcomes of the Egyptian-French Economic Forum held on Monday to enhance joint cooperation and drive economic development. Furthermore, he reported that the two presidents had agreed on the importance of implementing all aspects of their new strategic partnership, including mutual support for international nominations and enhanced cooperation in localizing railway industries, technical and vocational training, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and green hydrogen production.

President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for France's support, which contributed to the European Parliament's recent decision to release the second tranche of the EU's four billion euro macro-financial assistance package to Egypt. He stated that this decision reflects the deep strategic partnership between Egypt and the EU and acknowledges Egypt's crucial role as a regional stability pillar.

He concluded by expressing his hope for the swift disbursement of this tranche.
