The General Assembly of Egypt Gas Company (EGAS) was held to discuss and approve the 2024 fiscal year results, in the presence of Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

The minister praised the outstanding results achieved by Egypt Gas Company, both in 2024 and in previous years, extending his appreciation and gratitude to the company's leadership and all employees across the country for their efforts and the outstanding results achieved.

Badawy clarified that Egypt Gas Company has a clear footprint and an important role in implementing the six axes of the ministry's current work strategy, which are represented in providing citizens' needs for petroleum products at the lowest cost. This is achieved by increasing production, intensifying drilling and exploration programs, exploiting the infrastructure and capacities in the refining and petrochemicals sector, gas pipeline networks, crude oil and products, and creating a qualitative shift in the mineral resources sector to increase its contribution to the gross domestic product.

He also explained that restructuring the energy mix in cooperation and integrated work with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to increase the percentage of renewable energy in the Egyptian energy mix to reach 42% by 2030, which enables the exploitation of natural gas in value-added industries and the expansion of natural gas delivery projects to homes. He added that the important axis related to occupational safety and health, the environment, sustainability and energy conservation, due to their positive role in attracting investments by providing a safe working environment to preserve the safety of workers. The sixth axis is represented in exploiting Egypt's strategic location to increase regional cooperation and maximize the benefit from the infrastructure of liquefaction plants, ports, pipeline networks and warehouses, which enhances Egypt's position. as a regional energy hub.

Badawy praised the integrated work between the company's leadership, its board members, and individual shareholders, which contributed to these results. He noted that the Ministry, EGAS, and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) continue to provide all forms of support to Egypt Gas to expand its operations inside and outside Egypt, achieving added value and returns for the national economy.

Engineer Wael Gowaid, EGAS Chairman, reviewed the company's most prominent activities and results during 2024, which coincided with the 42nd anniversary of the company's founding in 1988. The presentation included a documentary film summarizing the company's activities. The presentation highlighted Egypt Gas's vital role in the natural gas delivery project to homes, commercial, and industrial facilities. The presentation also addressed the company's effective contribution to the "Decent Life" initiative, in addition to its participation in numerous major national projects. The presentation also highlighted the remarkable development in the company's performance in the field of general contracting, including integrated civil, mechanical, and electromechanical works.

He clarified that the company places great importance on occupational health and safety, as well as the environment, stemming from its commitment to protecting employees and customers and preserving equipment and assets to ensure business continuity and efficiency. The total working hours during 2024 reached approximately 31 million.

Gowaid reviewed the company's most significant achievements, including the full completion of the first phase of the "Decent Life" initiative in five governorates (Dakahlia, Gharbia, Menoufia, Qalyubia, and Luxor), the implementation of numerous petroleum, civil, and general contracting projects within Egypt, most notably aircraft refueling stations at Assiut and New Alamein airports for the Nile Company, the construction of a polyethylene pipe factory in Ain Sokhna for the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), a polyethylene pipe factory in 10th of Ramadan City for EGYFCO, and several drinking water desalination plants in Aswan Governorate.

He also reviewed the company's activities outside Egypt, in Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman, where the company has successfully implemented a number of strategic projects as part of its regional expansion plan, most notably gas supply projects to industrial cities in Jordan.
