The ministry stated that specialized national Egyptian companies and an Egyptian consultant are currently constructing bridges, installing rails, and establishing passenger and freight stations.
The project involves a single track from Rubiki to the 10th
of Ramadan dry port branch, and a double track from there to Belbeis city,
including 23 industrial structures. This line will connect the 10th of Ramadan
dry port and logistics zone to the national railway network, linking it to Red
Sea (Suez, Adabiya) and Mediterranean (Port Said, Damietta, Alexandria,
Dekheila) seaports.
Furthermore, the 10th of Ramadan dry port will be linked via
the regional ring road to the planned dry port near the New Administrative
Capital's high-speed train station, enabling nationwide goods transport via the
high-speed network. This will significantly enhance freight movement to and
from the major 10th of Ramadan industrial zone.
The line will also facilitate commuting for workers from Belbeis (who currently rely on private transport) and reduce traffic congestion, fuel consumption, emissions, accidents, and road maintenance costs. Ultimately, this project will integrate railway lines, seaports, dry ports, and logistics zones, boosting economic returns and streamlining the transportation of goods, particularly containers, from seaports to the 10th of Ramadan dry port, preventing port congestion.
